Jaya Sri


Jayasri (sometimes abbreviated as Jaya Sri) is a Sri Lankan reggae band from Nattandiya, Sri Lanka currently in Vienna, Austria, formed in 1993.
The seven piece band are multi cultured and they bring different music styles on playing by Reggae, Asian Dub, Ragga, Roots, Dancehall, Hiphop, Asian Chillout and traditional rhythms from Sri Lanka, India and Africa and different music elements of western music and Caribbean sounds.
The music of Jayasri was included in the films Mille Soya (2004) directed by Boodee Keerthisena and Machan (2008 film) directed by Italian oscar nominated director Uberto Pasolini and they won numerous awards for their works. They joined with Iraj Weeraratne to play the Cricket World Cup 2011 anthem namedLion Nation.
